Apologies but we closed until spring 2022

The View has been all encompassing for our family for almost two decades; we have been so privileged to live in such an awesome part of an awesome county; it’s nearly always incredible on the cliffs and often mind blowing; we are fortunate to have been able to call Whitsand Bay home.

To all our customers who have enjoyed, helped and encouraged, thank you so much. The View wouldn’t be what it is without your positive feedback and constant support, we have loved sharing our View with you.

Many thanks to everyone who sent messages and good wishes, you made our last week here truly special even if it’s been emotional!

The most amazing part of the business has been the gift that is the incredible young people who we have worked with. Without their hard work and eagerness to embrace our ethos of putting a smile on customers faces, we would not have been able to keep going. Watching them gain confidence, grow people skills and develop a work ethic that hospitality throws at you; move on to bigger and better things and still popping in and saying hello; well, that’s just the best, thank you!

We wish Claire & David, the new  guardians, the very best of luck and we can't wait to be able to support them in the new version of The View.

That’s our time here done, I'm hanging up the apron but  hope to  see you around on the weekend  !  Thank you all again , Matt.

Perched high on the cliffs at Whitsand Bay on the stunning Rame Peninsular in South East Cornwall, The View is a modern and vibrant family restaurant. It`s simple style allows full appreciation of the breathtaking Rame head, The Eddystone lighthouse and views far west along the Cornish coastline to Goonhilly on The Lizard.

Matt and Rachel are now in their eighteenth year at The View; Matt cutting his ties with the world of fine dining for a relaxed approach, simple food cooked precisely.

The use of local suppliers and small producers ensure superb ingredients are utilised. The menu changes daily with a bias towards local fish and seafood in spring and summer; as the seasons cool meat and game start to feature. The style is simple and clean with an emphasis on the main ingredient.
